Who runs this site

Solar Learning Lab is operated by a solar installation business. We also partner with other solar companies, and if you request quotes through this site, we or a partner company may contact you. Grades and data are produced separately from those relationships.

How our business works

  • We install. If you hire our installation business, we earn money the way any contractor does.
  • We partner. When a project fits a partner installer better than us, we hand it to them. Your price is the same either way.
  • We do not sell placement. No company can pay to improve its grade, its ranking on comparison pages, or the data shown on its profile.

Your consent, in plain language

When you submit a quote request, you choose which companies may contact you. Consent is per company, logged with a timestamp, and you can see the exact text you agreed to before you submit. We do not sell your information to list brokers.

Why trust data from a company with a stake

Fair question. Three answers. First, every number on this site links to a primary source, so you never have to take our word for anything. Second, the grading database is structurally isolated from the revenue side and our own company is graded on the same rubric. Third, our incentive data gets checked against the agencies that run the programs, and we publish the check date. If we get something wrong, the correction goes on the page with a date next to it.
