For years, Heliotronics has been providing data monitoring systems to renewable energy projects around the country (See examples click HERE and HERE). These include: Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal and Wind systems. There are hundreds of schools and other noteworthy sites such as the First LEED Platinum museum in the country, Harvard University, the State University of New York - College of Environmental Science and Forestry and many more. We have selected the best of these and included their data in this portal. A good example is Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute which has a fixed and tracking solar array side by side for comparison.
While there are hundreds of data systems, there are 10's of thousands of schools that could benefit from the data. Further, the sites are dispersed so this portal provides a way to bring together experts at teaching with this data. They can share what they have learned about using this data in the classroom.
The Solar Learning Lab™ includes data from sites around the country, curriculum that has already been created, forums for online teacher discussions and tools for sharing worksheets, new curriculum and classroom best practices. In addition you will have opportunities to participate in exclusive webinars that are available only to the Solar Learning Lab™ community. A variety of videos as well as other unique content is also available on the Solar Learning Lab.
